Can the proponents of “The List” become
Shadow Ministers?
There’s been a lot of “outrage” about the
list!
The word suddenly began to trend on the lips of every Nigerian – not just
on social media - this time around!
Still wondering what I mean by The List?
Of course I’m referring
to the Ministerial list sent to the National Assembly of The Federal Republic
of Nigeria by the recently sworn in President Muhammadu Buhari.
As expected there’s being little, short, big and small bursts
of anger from the lips and ‘fingers’ of the young and even the old!
Is this the list we’ve been waiting for?
What’s so special about the list?
The names on the list are recycled and old politicians!
I’m disappointed with the President’s list!
Why should there be only three female nominees on the list?
There’s no youth representation on ‘that’ list!
List…. List… List everywhere.
Let me cut this short as this article is directed to my generation!
I believe very strongly that it’s not enough for us to type
via our phones and write articles making demands for justified reasons and
posting them on social media.
Rather, I strongly believe that we need to #STANDUP and DO
something about the State of our Nation…. We need to #STANDUP for once. Now I don’t
mean a violent uprising … No… No…
I mean identifying and proffering world class
solutions to serious issues bothering on the development of our great nation.
And so here’s my BIG QUESTION – Can we be Shadow Ministers?
Can we personally take up portfolios based on our
competencies and passion just so we can tackle issues by ourselves?
We don’t need to be screened at the National Assembly neither
do we need to be appointed by the President!
Let’s appoint ourselves based on
our competencies and passion!
This is the most significant test of our patriotism.
Can a group of strong, young, dynamic, passionate, incorruptible,
goal and vision driven Shadow Ministers (you and I) be instituted?
Can this team of spirited young men and women sit down - NOT
to type and post messages - BUT to formulate strategies and policies whilst raising
funds to implement unparalleled world class solutions to our local
problems?
The bitter truth is this... until we #STANDUP and DO something we
will continue to live in our ill functioning society.
Here’s what I’m #STANDINGUP for – Smart e – learning an emerging social
enterprise providing access to highly interactive and engaging ICT learning experience
in Nigerian High Schools.
The
potential Social and Economic Impact of what I’m #STANDINGUP for?
Future
leaders equipped with essential and critical ICT skills required to integrate with
the world we live in today – a technologically driven social and economic world.
Potentially resulting in a highly skilled working generation that will drive
our National Economy!
Finally,
here’s my question to you…….What are you #STANDINGUP FOR?
